Why Linksbound Exists

Most golf travel is sold, not planned. Operators package what their supplier relationships make profitable, and what you get is a fine trip that looks remarkably like everyone else's fine trip. The alternative, planning it yourself, means months of research into ballot systems, tee time calendars, drive times, and hotel tradeoffs, conducted in stolen hours and finished with more doubt than confidence.

Linksbound exists for the golfer who wants the trip planned like it matters, by someone whose only incentive is getting it right. One transparent fee. No packages. No supplier agenda. Golf trips, built to your game.

In a single year, I took the trips golfers spend decades talking about: Bandon Dunes, Streamsong, and sixteen days through England and Scotland, eight rounds including Royal Troon, Turnberry, Carnoustie, and the New Course at St Andrews. I planned all three myself, every tee time strategy, transfer, and dinner reservation, because no operator plans a trip the way its owner would.

Somewhere between entering the Old Course singles draw and mapping the drive from Ayrshire to Fife, two things became obvious: almost nobody plans trips this way, and almost everybody wants theirs planned this way. Linksbound is that realization, turned into a practice.

About Matt Nitowski

I've been in golf for more than 35 years, since working the range at Oakmont Country Club in high school and serving as a standard bearer at the 1994 U.S. Open playoff. I've carried the game with me ever since, currently as a 5 handicap based in Palm Springs, California, with a travel résumé that runs from America's great golf destinations to the linksland where the game began.

Professionally, I've spent 25 years in brand strategy and marketing, including senior leadership for some of the world’s most beloved brands. That career taught me the discipline this one runs on: understanding what someone truly wants, often better than they can articulate it, and building every detail in service of it. A great brand and a great golf trip are made the same way, from insight, structure, and care. The honest difference is that I've never enjoyed building anything as much as I enjoy crafting someone's perfect golf trip.

What this means for your trip

When you work with Linksbound, you get the trip you would build yourself if you had the time, the research, and thirty-five years of golf judgment to build it with. Your pace, your group, your appetite for the famous versus the sublime, your definition of a perfect evening after golf. That's what "built to your game" means, and it's the standard for every itinerary that leaves this desk, including the Order of Play, the competition your group will play all week, because the best trips have standings.
